the ucm alumni foundation
Our two Board of Director organizations (UCM Foundation and UCM Alumni Association) joined together on July 1, 2015, and merged into ONE unified and powerful Board with ONE mission: “Cultivate, manage and distribute resources in support of the University of Central Missouri.”
With the merging of our Boards into one organization, we changed our name on July 1, 2016: the UCM Alumni Foundation. We are focused solely on engaging alumni, donors and friends through volunteerism and generosity.

UCM Alumni Association
The Alumni Association was formed in 1871 at the same time that the University of Central Missouri was founded as Normal School No. 2. The association’s organization has changed through the years, but its mission remains constant.
The UCM Foundation was founded in 1979 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization to attract and administer philanthropic gifts that advance the University of Central Missouri. That same year, long-time Missouri Secretary of State James C. Kirkpatrick chaired the first annual fund drive and raised $18,291. Just 10 years later in 1989, the gift revenue raised by the Foundation exceeded $1 million.
UCM Alumni Foundation
On July 1, 2015, the UCM Foundation and the UCM Alumni Association merged their operations and governing Boards to create a singular focus on student success at the University of Central Missouri. Currently, the Alumni Foundation has over $50 million in total assets and averages approximately $4.5 million annually in gift revenue.
