Heritage Society

Decades before the UCM Alumni Foundation was even a thought, alumni and friends shared their financial resources to help advance the University of Central Missouri. It all started when the campus’ original 16 acres were donated by a local citizen in 1871. Today, the generosity of our community allows the university to deliver high-quality, affordable higher education by creating new scholarships, increasing faculty support, funding cutting-edge facilities and supporting innovative programs.

The Heritage Society recognizes those donors who are honoring the University of Central Missouri in their final wishes. Membership belongs to people who provide required documentation to the UCM Alumni Foundation of a planned gift, including:

• provision in their will or revocable trust,
• life income gift (charitable gift annuity, charitable remainder trust or charitable lead trust),
• retirement plan,
• life insurance policy beneficiary designation, or
• life estate gift (remainder interest in real property)

We would be happy to connect with you one on one to discuss your philanthropic goals through planned giving. For instance, we can assist you with a customized proposal that looks at which planned gift best meets your philanthropic and financial goals. How we recognize you is your choice, whether you prefer publicity, invitations to events or wish to remain anonymous.

If you are planning to designate UCM in your will, our official bequest language is:

I, [name], of [city, state, ZIP], give, devise and bequeath to the University of Central Missouri Alumni Foundation, Federal Tax ID #43-1181566, [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property] for its unrestricted use and purpose.
