Founders Society

Founders Society Logo

The University of Central Missouri was founded because of a single act of philanthropy. In 1871, Civil War Captain Melville Foster donated 20 acres of land, coupled with bonds from the town of Warrensburg, to create Normal School No. 2. Over 150 years later, our university delivers high-quality, affordable higher education to over 11,000 students across the globe.

Our donors carry on the tradition of our founding generosity. For that, we are proud to honor those who contribute $25,000 or more in their lifetimes by welcoming them to the Founders Society. These donors go above and beyond to create opportunities for our students they never imagined possible either through outright contributions or a documented planned gift intention. These donors receive invitations to exclusive events throughout the year including An Evening of Appreciation.

To join this important giving society, please contact Courtney Goddard, Executive Director for the UCM Alumni Foundation and Vice President for Advancement at 660-543-8000 or cgoddard@ucmo.edu.
