The majority of Pat Smithson's career has been working in the nonprofit sector in fundraising, where she worked nationally, serving as a national office management liaison for 20% of the offices across the United States for the National Kidney Foundation. Pat received her bachelor's degree in Secondary Education from UMKC and her master's degree in Management from Webster University.
In her life outside UCM, Pat does volunteer work with the Mid-America Charitable Gift Planners, where she served as its President.
